Palau Lang Tengah or Redang?

over 7 years ago about Malaysia

I have been to Redang before, but not to Palau Lang Tengah. Been a few years since i went there, and i'm sure some things have changed. 1: Where to go. Any big differences between the two islands? Beaches, snorkling, diving, food.... 2: Best place for toddler? First time travelling with my son (8 months). Any hotel that is "better" than the others when it comes to small children? Anything else? 3: Best way to get there from Perhentian We will be spending a week at Perhentian before going south. I know that it was possible to charter a boat to Redang (and Lang Tengah) - is this still possible? Is there a regular boatservice? 4: Where to stay Any recomodations for a nice place to stay.

Lang Tengah is a lot smaller than Redang. Redang is bigger, even has a small airfield and the better hotels/resorts plus the facilities. This also makes it busier. LT on the other hand is very secluded. Quite a few snorkelling/diving trips from Redang also stop by LT. Both islands are fine for toddlers - at least, I saw several families with young children on both islands and they didn't seem to have a problem. It is possible to charter a boat from Perhentian to LT/Redang but it costs a lot. There are no scheduled boat links. I believe around 800 Ringgit but bargain furiously. It's about a boat 45min ride.

    Thanks velvetescape

I noticed on your blog that you stayed at D'Coconut Lagoon. From browsing the web it looks like that is the best hotel on the island.

I know you liked the cold bear they served, but how did you find the place part from that? Rooms, food..etc.

We are 5 (maybe 6) in our group, and 800 (less after bargaining) is not that bad when you save a trip to the mainland, taxi and then another boat. over 7 years ago
