Travel between Kathmandu and Pokhara, the best and fastest is by domestic flight. It will take you approximately an hour. But, you will miss all the interesting sights along the way. The alternative is to get a mini-van that operates from New Interchange. Operators there will shout the destination, you climb in and wait for the minivan to fill with other passengers. When the van is full, the van will leave immediately. There will be a stop along the way, either for breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on the time of your departure. The fare is only 250 NPR which is about US$3.50
You could of course book the whole van and enjoy all that space for about US$35. about 5 years ago

We usually go by bus from KTM to Pokhara to experience more of rural Nepal on the way. Back we take plane. The prices for the plane are up now - about 100-120 USD pokhara to Kathmandu over 1 year ago

We just arrived to Pokhara two days ago by plane: 25' and views over the Annapurna and Machhapuchache. Otherwise, by bus, around 7 hours (15$ against 105$ but there is a cheaper one but it is not life!). over 1 year ago
