Driving from Christchurch to Dunedin on a Saturday next May.. am wondering where should we stop along the way and are they are any scenic places we should stop at to get the most from the drive?

    We drove along the east coast on the south island- it is beautiful. There are lots of places to investigate along the way. over 4 years ago

    Try and stop off in places like Kaikoura (there's a deep sea trench not far off shore so it great for marine life spotting (or do a 4WD trip), Lake Tekapo (very beautiful) and you could take a slight detour to Mount Cook where you can take a fixed wing flight and land on a glacier or just relax surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. over 4 years ago
