I did my padi a couple of years ago in this place in Anilao, about 3 hrs drive from Manila. Anilao has some amazing dive spots nearby, cathedral and twin rocks were my favourite.
Outrigger resort is a great spot, delicious food and right on the sea. Stunning! We were lucky enough to go to the local village of mabini with our dive instructor and there was a festival on, was so much fun.

Hi Ian, you can also try Alona Beach on Bohol island if you're after facilities. For what I've been told, the best reefs are found on Coron, Palawan, but it's a bit quieter there than Bohol. Here's a good map to help you get your bearings: http://www.divefishsnow.co.nz/dive/philippines/images/home-map-zoom.gif

From my experience with Bohol, you simply rock up to the beach. There are a number of reputable dive companies that can either take you on planned excursions, or private dives.

Just do a search for 'Alona Beach diving' to take a look at prices. Let me know if you have any questions regarding Bohol, Manila or Cebu - I'm happy to give you my two cents. almost 7 years ago

There are a number of shipwrecks you can dive near Coron on Busuanga island. Just hit the town you will find some diving operators who will take you there. I would also recommend the reefs around El Nido, they are really beautiful! almost 7 years ago
