There are a lot of options. I hope this could help.

If you will arrive in Manila and plan to go hiking in Mount Pulag (assuming you have camping gears with you), the 3rd highest mountain in the Philippines where you can see bamboo dwarfs at the summit, you can stay at Cubao for overnight (hotels like orange place in Kamias, Quezon City website http://www.theorangeplacehotel.com/component/option,com_contact/Itemid,3/

then go to Victoryliner bus station in Cubao headed to Baguio City. (At Baguio, there are a lot of things to do there too). From Baguio, ask for the location of the mini buses going to Ambangeg, Mount Pulag. Get off at the DENR office and ask them to assist you get a motorbike or a jeepney to the Ranger Station in Ambangeg. Estimated itinerary will be:
Day 1 -- arrive airport, head straight to Kamias, check in and overnight
Day 2 -- travel for 5-6 hours to Baguio City, arrive Baguio and check in overnight (there are a lot of lodges in Baguio.)
Day 3 -- travel to Ambangeg, Mount Pulag for 3-4 hours, start trek, ovenight near summit
Day 4 -- descend and back to Baguio, ovenight Baguio
Day 5 -- Back to Manila...

Depends if you would like to stay in Manila... You can stay again in Kamias or look for other lodges in Malate where most of the visitors go and parttteeey!
But if you decide to stay in Kamias, it is easy to go to Malate. Just ask the receptionist to get you a cab and let the staff negotiate for you. Dont forget to get the phone number of the hotel.

Day 7 or 8,9,10 -- go to La Luz Resort in Laiya Batangas Webiste http://www.laluzresort.com/
but you need to prebook this though as they only accept reservations done in advance. They offer rooms with buffet meals. Mostly Filipino food! yummy! Try the massage at their Cabanas. The beach front is very nice also the corals... you can do snorkeling, kayaking, skin diving and even scuba diving there. BUT arrange everything in advance. La Luz is one of my favorite resorts. over 4 years ago

Option 2: If you only like the beach and party, then you can stay in Manila and follow my Kamias-Malate itinerary. Instead of going to Baguio city, ask for the bus terminal PARTAS in Cubao and head straight to Ilocos.

You can follow this itinerary http://www.pinoyadventurista.com/2011/06/how-to-get-there-accommodations.html

After you are finished with all the tours,go to the bus station that's headed to Manila and ask the driver to drop you off at Playa Tropical Beach Resort in Currimao, Ilocos Norte. I know the owners. My top 1 favorite resort by far! http://www.playatropical.com.ph/
If you email the owners of Playa, tell them that you were referred by The Panuchas and ask for a special rate :)

At Playa Tropical, ask the receptionist to hire you a van to bring you to Vigan where nobody is vegan :) because they love eating this garlic-rich sausage called vigan longanisa and this yummy fried pork called bagnet! Please do not leave Vigan without trying those food.

Make sure you go back Manila, a day before your fight because the trip is 10 hours by bus. But worth it! :)

Happy traveling! over 4 years ago
