Hi

My boyfriend and I plan to arrive in Palawan at the beginning of October for a week... and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what to see or where to stay.

We llike the look of the beaches around El Nido and was wondering if anyone can recommend some good but cheap beach accomodation. Or are there any islands we must go and visit whilst on Palawan?

We also have a week around Cebu and are currently planning on visiting Bohol and Siquijor.. so if anyone can recommend some nice accommodation there aswell, that would be great!

Thanks in advance
Polly

    Hi Polly,

I stayed at El Nido in December 2009, it's a really paradise.
You must go to Big and Small Lagoon by kayaking, and see the birds, the little monkeys and the monitor lizard, you'll see the most transparent water you can imagine, you can see the corals and the fishes from outside the water!!!
You must snorkelling or diving in every island of El Nido, there are hundred of corals, anemons, fishes of colors...it's a true paradise!!!
To snorkelling I recomend you Simizu Island, 7Komandos beach, Big and Small Lagoon, etc. I recomend you an island hopping tour to visit Vigan and Snake Island, one long sand spit connecting two islands, you can climb up and see a lot of islands of El Nido Bacuit, you can also swim in the warm water and walk by the sand spit. You can visit the Cathedral and Cudugnon Cave in the same tour.
You can go to Matinloc Island to visit "secret beach".
There are many island very beautiful to see and perfect for snorkel and also for dive.

We stayed at Miniloc Island Resort, but it isnĀ“t a cheap option. You can look for another hotel in the zone. El Nido Town is a quiet and beatiful village.

I suggest for anyone going to El Nido, check out all four tours that they offer. I have gone on three of the four and you truly appreciate the number of beaches and karsts in the area. If you just go on one tour and it's busy that day...it may not feel as exotic...cheers almost 3 years ago
