Hello all, I am going to stay in Philippines for one week -- 4 days in Manila and 3 days in other province. I want to get a prepaid 3G SIM card with internet access for my Android phone. If the card has unlimited data plan, I think that is even better. Hassle free. I heard SMART is good to use both in Manila and other provinces. Does Smart offer internet access too? If yes, how much does it cost? Please fill me in with all available plans. Any advices are welcome. Thank you.

I used Smart and had no problems with it when I was there. The other main network is Globe. almost 5 years ago

Globe works best in Metro Manila and some provinces. Usually costlier than other networks but they have the best service anyway. almost 5 years ago

You really have to look at the relevent web sites as this sort of information changes frequently. The good news is that Cell services are available throughout the country for both calls of course and browsing. Occassional visitors are provided for as well. you need an appropriate SIM card of course and then pay for some load. After that there are a series of short codes you can type on your phone to request a time limited packages such as unlimited texts, unlimites calls ( normally to the same network), unlimited browsing. Frankly unless you are really going to spend a lot of time on your relatively short trip, you might find just paying for the services you use in the 6 days you are in the country. The unlimited services are really designed for longer periods. You have to sleep, eat, travel and look at the various sights, swim, shop and lots of other things! almost 4 years ago
