We understand that eating in Singapore can be a bit pricey so we were wondering if anyone knows and can recommend a good place to eat that is reasonable. We will be in the Singapore Flyer location, little India, Chinatown and Fort Canning area. What do you think we should budget for meals? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Sue

Go to one of the many food halls in the city. The food is reasonably priced and is preferable to the fare in some hotels. Coffee shops are also a good bet. over 1 year ago

Near Chinatown is Maxwell food court.
Little India is full of cheap places. There's a great place on the corner of serangoon and deseker. Lau pa sat is central, it's another hawker centre. Singapore is an expensive country but the best food is very cheap. over 1 year ago

The hawker centers are your best bet for good, authentic singaporean fare at very reasonable prices. Some of them are like a hundred years old. Both Little India and Chinatown are also full of restaurants on the cheaper side. look for the most crowded ones or simply ask the locals. over 1 year ago

The hawker centers are indeed the best bet for food.
An excellent example is Maxwell Road Hawker Centre

Maxwell Road is great for chicken rice! Hawker centers are your best bet. Also try the food courts in the malls, very good with choices, air con, a little more costly. over 1 year ago
