How do I get fly from Singapore to Siem Reap cheaply? The only option I can find seems to be Jetstar. Any other options that are direct flights? I want to fly from Singapore to Siem Reap and then after a few days to Da Nang in Vietnam and then back to Singapore. Any hints on how to do this? Regards Suzi

    Hey Suzi,

According to Adioso, you've got two recommended options (and yes, I am associated with Adioso, in fact, I run it!):

    http://adioso.com/sg/singapore-to-siem-reap.html

Either direct with Jetstar, or you could go via Kuala Lumpur, which seems roundabout, but could end up cheaper (depending on the day).

In terms of spending time in Da Nang, none of the low cost carriers fly direct from international there. Vietnam Airlines does (though they're not on Adioso, so I'm not much of an expert with that).

It's going to be a bit of a pain with low cost carriers, as you'd need to go Siem Reap -> Singapore -> Ho Chi Minh -> Da Nang or Siem Reap -> KL -> Ho Chi Minh (or Hanoi) -> Da Nang, which is going to be a bit slow and probably not cheap :)

From a quick look at the Vietnam Airline site, it looks like they don't fly to Da Nang (or Hue) from any international destinations either, however, they do fly from Siem Reap to either Ho Chi Minh or Ha Noi for about USD$120.

So, in summary, I would recommend Siem Reap -> Ho Chi Minh with Vietnam Airlines, then HCM -> Da Nang with either Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar (http://adioso.com/vn/sgn-to-da-nang.html ~$35) or bus/train :)

    Cheers and good luck!

Thanks Fenn for the extensive reply. Really appreciated. It should be easier shouldn't it! I did check out your site Adioso and it is really helpful. I would rather go direct than save a few dollars so looks like Jetstar unless Silk Air come up with a better low season deal - currently it is SGD $488 a person! The good thing is they leave at 8:50am compared to Jetstars 6am but I will get up early to not pay $400 SGD per person!
I had come to the conclusion I will need to fly somewhere else in Vietnam to get to Da Nang - which is ok - Just need to wait a few more months until May/June fares become available on Vietnam Airways.
Does anyone have any advice if in low season I could wait until we are in Siem Reap and sort it out from there or should I just be patient and book from here when fares become available? We only have a few weeks away so would not want to get stuck in Siem Reap.
    Regards

    Hi Suze

I recently went to Cambodia and Vietnam. From Singapore we flew JetStar (to save a few $$ too) to Siem Reap. After doing the Angkor Wat thing we then flew Vietnam Airways from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh and transferred to Da Nang. about 7 years ago

Thanks for that. I have heard some horror stories about Jetstar and them cancelling flights. Did you have any problems? The prices are certainly attractive!
