I am going to Barcelona for a week and I need suggestions! Restaurants, sights, tips, nearby day trips please
My cousin and I will be travelling to Barcelona for a week and I would like some suggestions. I want to know the MUST see places aside from Sagrada Familia. Where should we eat? Are there any nearby places worth taking a day trip to? Places to go for a nice run? I've never been to Europe and I'm excited! Also, should I get some euros before I leave or wait until I get there?
First and foremost, I recommend doing a free walking tour - they are always the best way to get to know a bit about a city. I did the Travel Bar one three years ago and it was fabulous! http://www.travelbar.com/es/free-walking-tour/
I personally love anything and everything Gaudi - Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Casa Batlo, Parc Guell etc.
Wander down Las Ramblas and make sure you pop into the market - it's amazing!!!
Explore the gothic quarter.
Booking through Viator, I once did a day trip out to Figueres and Costa Brava to visit the Salvador Dali Museum and beach house, that was pretty fascinating (He's is the guy who painted really quirky stuff, like the melting clock)
