I have been offered a job in Zurich to start in summer there. I was wondering what are the top places to visit. I should be there for a few months so I will have plenty of weekends that I can take off to travel. But places still need to be close enough that I can see them in a few days.

I would highly recommend going to Lucerne. It is one of the most beautiful places i have ever travelled to. There are plenty of little shops tucked away over the township. Also a trip to Mt Titlis is also highly recommended. Unfortunately the day we went there was a blizzard so we were unable to do the activities but there are many skiing, snowboarding, it is amazing when you are up there.
You can take a day trip on a coach from Zurich to Mt Titlis.

Just down from the entrance to Mt Titlis is a little township that is worth having a walk around. over 7 years ago

go to the old town in zurich, right by the river, it is truly stunning. needle park was a cool place many years ago but i am not sure what the advice is recently. i know when i visited for business a couple of years ago we were told to stay clear, too risky. head down to geneva. its a wonderful train ride from zurich. hop trains and head to montreaux. paddle a boat on the lake, its great fun and the scenery from the water is breathtaking, take a steamer and play at the casinos. head back to geneva and visit the old town. visit the church and climb to the top. there is also a 16th century house laid out the way people lived in it back then as a complete family setting that really is amazing. over 7 years ago
