Grindelwald is pretty, but Lauterbrunnen is close to perfect. Not even close in my opinion. Lauterbrunnen is also a little better travel hub - easy to get to both Jungrau and Schilthorn and just down the tracks from Interlaken. about 5 years ago

I agree with Mike, but I generally choose Wengen which I like even better. No cars. about 5 years ago

Lauterbrunnen. It's real ... Not touristy. Great jumping off point for rail and it has the Tromelbach Falls (nothing like them in the world) and the Staubach Falls, the 7 th highest in the world. You can go up to Wengen and on to the Jungfrau Joch, or go all the way up to the Shilthorn. It's a great spot. And if you'd like to save money on lodging, try renting on of the little chalets at Camping-Jungfrau. Lovely cabins, a little grocery store, a small restaurant and a fully equipped kitchen in your chalet. And inexpensive, spotlessly clean, and at the quiet end of town, directly across from Staubach Falls. almost 5 years ago
