I am in Mumbai.I am planning a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam through Bangkok. What is the best way to travel to see these 2 places without hassels. Can I enter any day to these 2 countries by taking visa from India. What should be the best sequence to fully enjoy the trip.I have my to and fro ticket to Mumbai from Bangkok. And by taking On arrival visa for Thailand can I enter these countries and come back to Bangkok.
In Vietnam, some attractive places for you to visit are Danang - Hoian - Hue (in the Central), Hanoi - Sapa - Halong (in the North), Saigon - Mekong Delta (in the South). In Cambodia, you can visit Phnom Penh, Siem Reap. If you have difficulties in making a detailed plan for your trip, you can book a tour. I see Asia Group Tour provide some tours of Cambodia and Vietnam. almost 2 years ago
You can apply Visa on arrival letter to Vietnam, visa to Cambodia can take on arrival day. Some cheap airlines from Bangkok to Vietnam as Airasia, Nokair. You can do tour from North to South Vietnam (Hanoi - Sapa - Halong - Hue - Hoian - Ho Chi Minh) then take flight to Siem Reap if budget is not problem for you or bus. From Siem Reap take flight back to Bangkok. I applied cheap price for visa letter and tour at http://indochinabesttravel.com/en. Hope it is helpful for you almost 2 years ago
Take a train from BKK to the Cambodian border(about $3.00) at the last stop take a tuk tuk to the border and go the the border office (AFTER) and I repeat AFTER you passed the Welcome to Cambodia Sign (other wise you end up at an office who gets you a visa for $30 which they buy next door for $20. Tahe a bus or share a cab to Siem Reap. After that take a bus to Phnom Phen and another to Saigon. If you have booked a hostel in district one (where you should go) get off the bus and ignore the taxis. Walk into a travelagent or shop and ask for directions- You will be within a few hundred meters of you hostel. If you get in a taxi they will get you there 20 minutes -merry go round drive ad charge you $15 for what is in reality a few hundred meters-- believe me - it happened---to me. Richard's answer to me seems difficult. I flew from BKK to Siem Reap. I already booked my hotel so I had arranged to be picked up at the airport by the hotel. As a single female, I have traveled all over S.E. asia without any problems. Just use common sense and be careful at night. I felt safe everywhere I went except in Phnom Penh. That city I felt the least safe in. There are street children who are on drugs and one came up to me and hit me. There are no police around, so what do you do? can't say "help" no one would understand, and if you don't speak the language, good luck. Just be careful. From Siem Reap, I took buses down the country, taking my time, staying in hotels in different towns. It is very inexpensive for $20 you can stay in a nice hotel. I flew from Phnom Penh back to BKK. Next trip I flew to Ventianne, took buses around the country, and flew back from Luang Prubang - a wonderful city!
I realize this is a late reply, but for others who wondered the same thing... 28 days ago
