    The best food is always where the locals go. You'll see make-shift restaurants in the night-markets with locals sitting down on plastic chairs and tables on the street. This is where you'll find some great food and you can experience the local custom.

    Thai's rarely eat in a full-service restaurants - these cater for tourists and as such you'll often find a bland mix of offerings 'designed' for western tastes.

    If you want silver service dining then I would head to Bangkok (it's less than a two hour drive) as you're more likely to find these sorts of restaurants here. over 7 years ago
