This is a site one of our agents uses every time he visits Phuket.. They have a small section on Visa runs here:

Hopefully that helps.. I personally have never been so I cannot offer much more information than that. over 7 years ago

Cheers for that. And in case anyone else needs info. The company I used was called Phuket Business & Legal who did the trip in a 9 seat "VIP" air-conditioned minibus. It was actually not too bad. The trip cost 1500 Thb and included everything from water and a few snacks on the bus to a stop at a Thai roadside restaurant in Ranong, the $10 US at the border crossing and the boat across to Myanmar. It also had a DVD and TV on board. It took from 6am to about 6.30pm

Don't expect to make too many friends on the trip though. My bus was like riding along on a day trip with Norman Bates, Gary Glitter and Fred West.... I'm sure some of them had family members locked up in their basements by the looks of them! over 7 years ago

For visa run from Phuket, jump on the local bus or shuttle and head south to the Malaysia border. Within a day, or so depending on the bus, you're back with another 3 months :) almost 7 years ago

I have used Tiger Airways and Air Asia to do visa run, out and back the same day to Singapore or KL. If you get the special fares it can be cheaper than doing a visa run by bus and can be quicker too. If you need good hotel deal i get mine here http://www.ihotelthai.com about 5 years ago

How about making a visa run a real adventure? Check that out:

Backpackers on a Boat aim to introduce the budget backpacking community to the sailing world. Currently sailing between Langkawi, Malasia and Phuket, Thailand we provide the excitement of a voyage at sea at the cost of typical overland travel. Join us for a five day cruise through the Thai islands with swim stops, fishing, and visa runs where required. Meals are included and drinks offered at cheaper than bar prices. Forget the guest house and back breaking bus rides and take your next voyage with us.
