Does anyone know if there is a ferry from Phuket to Langkawi and if so where I would go to book (apart from the port).

You can get on the cruising boat and have a lot of fun at the same time. Check this out. It's probably only valid for march - june 2012.
How about making a visa run a real adventure? Check that out:

"Backpackers on a Boat aim to introduce the budget backpacking community to the sailing world. Currently sailing between Langkawi, Malasia and Phuket, Thailand we provide the excitement of a voyage at sea at the cost of typical overland travel. Join us for a five day cruise through the Thai islands with swim stops, fishing, and visa runs where required. Meals are included and drinks offered at cheaper than bar prices. Forget the guest house and back breaking bus rides and take your next voyage with us."

    Hi BoaB people,

    We're arriving in Phuket on June 10th - 11 2012.

Would like to spend a few days in Phuket, and then head to Langkowi.

My cousin, who's a sailor, is interested in checking out prices on a catamaran.

Do you have any sailings to planned over the next week or so ?
