I'm going with friends for a few days traveling through Thailand. It is easy to book hotels on the day or is it better to book in advance by internet?

It depends on wherr you are going and what kind of accomodation you are looking for.
I never got a problem also just walking in hotels and asking if they have free rooms and if they can show them to me in order to evaluate the conditions.
It wouldn't be a problem about 5 years ago

Hello Alan, If you book through an online service, you will enjoy much better rates than the walk-in rate. Hotels and resorts will charge you more if you walk-in but this gives you flexibility of going as you please. In any case, Thailand is very flexible and depending on the season you will easily find rooms. Be careful with big destinations such as Phuket during the good season from November through February, as most hotels will be fully books especially during Christmas. For this period, better be prepared.

There are many options to book online, try www.phuket-holiday.com for more information and special hotels & resort rates.

    Enjoy your holiday in Thailand.

No problem there; just walk into any hotel and let you show the room, or ask any of the many travel agents booths on the road or the taxi/tuktuk drivers - however the last will eventually take you to their uncle/brother/parents home and try to rent you out a spare bed in the living room area - but don't be offended if that happens; just ask if you can see another hotel instead. about 5 years ago

Low season real easy, real cheap ! high season gets hard and the best places book out early and prices double in some areas. Try www.ihotelthai.com for the best deals going, make sure you get Travel insurance from this site as good hospitals in Thailand are really big bucks. Have fun ! about 5 years ago

You can book hotels on the same day if you are looking for cheap guesthouses but if you are looking for a hotel a bit more comfortable you will get the best prices booking online in advance. http://tailandiaviaje.com/ 8 months ago

I would suggest searching and booking your accommodation before. This way you can guarantee better prices and you can read the reviews about the place. I know it might take a while to do the research but it definitely worth for the money you will save and avoid tourist traps.
This page has 6 options good websites you can use to search for hotels and hostels. It also explains how to use Couchsurfing and Airbnb (with 20 USD free credit). Pretty good summary...http://outofyourcomfortzone.net/the-4-best-and-cheapest-sites-to-find-and-reserve-accommodation/ 8 months ago
