Phuket has 3 major shopping centers, 1) Robinson in Phuket Town, 2) Central Mall in the middle of the commercial centers’ area and 3) Jung Ceylon on Patong Beach. The most interesting for a visitor is Jung Ceylon in Patong, where you will find a myriad of restaurants, a food court, and lots of shopping. Regarding eating in Phuket, there is nothing simpler! Everywhere you go, you will find a place to eat, that it is in a fancy restaurant to a street stall. Most beaches of Phuket will have everything you need from western dishes to Asian delicacies. If you want to adventure a bit more you can always go through a local market, either the fresh markets or the food markets, generally located in the back streets of Phuket’s beaches.
The Old Phuket Town is also a place to visit to discover local specialties. If you are not sure, the easiest is to point at a dish or let the chef choose for you. The golden rule, if the restaurant or street stall, is crowded with local Thais, then the food is good and you should definitely try it. The Old Phuket Town has a lot of restaurants, from traditional Chinese, to Southern Thai, to Muslim specialties which is very similar to India food with rich curries and India bread.
Restaurants and street stalls are open from early morning ‘till very late in the night and in popular places, opened 24 hours. Thailand loves to eat and good food is very cheap, you can easily have a local Thai dish with soft drink for about 50 Baht (1 Euro).
Enjoy your Phuket Holiday.

For Cheap real Italian go to M&M's between Rawai and Nai Harn Beach. The Two Chef's in Kata is always good but a bit expensive. For Thai Seafood there are floating restaurants near Monkey Island that are amazing. The food is one of the most amazing aspects of Phuket Island because of the mix of Thai, Indian, Muslim, and expatriate restaurant variety and experience. Posting the question here is an excellent idea because local knowledge is what you need. almost 6 years ago
