We were really keen on visiting Ayutthaya but since that's now not possible, we would just be staying in Bangkok. So it's whether we go the extra distance from London and visit temples in Angkor or stick with Bangkok. Be interested to know what you advise. I understand Siem Reap also been hit by flash floods but I think they've had a dry week so far. Thanks!

Angkor is an amazing place. Even if it is affected by rains it'll probably be less so since Bangkok is at the end of the catchment. almost 6 years ago

If you want to party go bangkok.
If you want a lifetime experience go to Siem Reap.

Been On both last week and loved Cambodja must more even with the flooding downtown.

It really is urban vs rural environment. Angkor has Fabulous ruins and Bangkok Fabulous live temples and palace.

But i wont be returning to Bangkok and I AM definitely returning to cambodja. almost 6 years ago

Why don't you book a cheap flight on Air Asia and just travel straight to Phuket from the airport for the 4 nights? Phuket is fine no floods at all, try http://www.ihotelthai.com for the cheap hotel deals. almost 6 years ago

Thanks all for your input. We changed our trip and are going to Siem Reap instead for 3 nights but we will be in Bangkok 1 night on 1st November. We then go to Phuket where we should be dry! We are staying on Rama IV road near Lumphini Park in Bangkok. If anyone knows likelihood of that area flooding badly, please let me know! :-) almost 6 years ago
