I have tons on music I have collected over the years, most of it is heavy metal and the like. Does airport security check every laptop computer coming through?
Most of my music I have downloaded from the internet, I am worried I may be viewed as trying to transport pirated music.
The music I bring is for my own personal use.

very unlikely you'll be stopped for this, unless you're dressed like the lead singer of Lordi. What tends to happen in UAE is if you draw attention to yourself by being a twit, they'll find as many obscure laws as possible that you've transgressed and throw the book at you. Stay classy and keep a low profile. This is not the place to express your anti-establishment beliefs.

And Sudan... really? Many foreign governments have it on their "do not travel" lists, and as such you won't be covered by travel insurance. If anything happens to you it'll be up to you to get yourself out of trouble and pay for any losses (medical etc). You should check out your government's travel advice for Sudan before proceeding, and make yourself aware of the risks.
