We just got a reply from Twitter user acp_dxb:

@travellr - if you want a no-nonsense business hotel with no trimmings, no F&B and ok furnishings, then you might be satisfied. Not great over 7 years ago

I have not stayed there myself, but have stayed at the Fairmont and Emirates Towers on the same road...I much prefer Emirates Towers club rooms.

If you want a budget hotel, then the Novotel and Ibis on SZ Road are a good and sometimes cheap alternative.

I have also heard really good things about The Place which is next to the Fairmont. over 7 years ago

I assume you mean Four Points by Sheraton.

I haven't stayed at the FP but stayed at the Sheraton further up along the beach last year. Not recommended. Worst five-star hotel I have stayed at. Crappy service and the rooms were not very nice at all, quite oldish and tacky in fact, but was cheapest beach side hotel along Jumeirah Beach though. Not that anything is cheap in that area though. over 7 years ago

Look for the Mall of Emirates area...there is dozens of good hotels just 2 minuts walk to the Mall as well as to a Metro Station. about 5 years ago
