This is a question that gets asked a lot. The answer is technically you cannot stay with a member of the opposite sex who you are not related to. This goes against the law and carries a punishment of jail time and getting deported if caught.

Of course, we are aware that people do come to the UAE and stay together and they are not married nor related. My suggestion would be that the bigger hotels are tolerant and will not cause any problems - so look for any of the big hotels such as Fairmont, Hilton, Jumeriah hotels etc and you should be fine. almost 5 years ago

In Dubai proper, pretty much anywhere. We are a gay couple ourselves and have NEVER had any issues with hotels in Dubai. almost 5 years ago

If you are visiting/holiday season you can pick a serviced apartment or if your budget allows then one of the beach hotels/resorts. almost 5 years ago

You can stay in an hotels, they will never ask your relation. Just dont drive if you have had any alcohol, in December at least in some parts of Dubai, like in beach road there are random checks. As long as you are sober and not dropping to the floor you should be ok almost 5 years ago

Some places - usually those that are smaller and not large chains and promote themselves as family hotels - will and do ask for proof.

Larger places/more upmarket probably wont. almost 5 years ago
