    If you are staying centrally you should just explore the Embarcadero Center (http://www.embarcaderocenter.com/ec/) on Market Street for breakfast, then jump on a cable car down to Fisherman's Wharf. While you are there you can take the ferry to Alcatraz (the prison). You must do this. I would recommend booking the Alcatraz ferry before you leave otherwise you might miss out on the day. At Fisherman's Wharf there is a great bakery/restaurant called the Boudin Bakery (http://www.boudinbakery.com/), it's a great place for lunch or dinner overlooking Alcatraz. If you have time you can take a bus around to see the Golden Gate, but it's just a bridge. about 7 years ago

    If you have a car, take the 49 mile drive. It was put together for the last worlds fair in S.F. You will hit all the high points over 5 years ago
