I live 15 miles from Mt Evans and have visited the top many times. The view is spectacular with mt goats usually in attendance. Have lunch at the base in a 1920's log lodge overlooking Summit lake. Homemade pies will bring you back. We do it every year to see Aspen Colors.

If you go instead to Pikes Peak, try the Cog Railroad. The modern lodge at the top is open all year blizzards or not. 7 months ago

Correction on Mt Evans. Summit Lake is further up the mountain where they goats are.

Echo Lake Lodge circa 1900 is the place where the pie is. My favorite is peach a la mode. All baking is done on site. 7 months ago
