I spent a few weeks in San Diego a few years ago. I enjoyed visiting Balboa Park which has some great gardens and buildings to explore. I'd also recommend visiting Pacific and Ocean Beach as these gave me a good feel of the San Diego lifestyle of warm weather, sun and beaches!
Just a short drive north is the seaside community of La Jolla which has a beautiful beach and was an interesting place to wander around and explore. over 7 years ago
There is a breakfast burrito on Pacific Beach you do not want to miss out on.
I thinks it's called Cono's?? every local knows it and there will be a big line!! but well worth it! right across from the beach.
A walk down to Blacks beach is worth it too. The cliffs and scenery are good, the waves are awesome, but beware the naked species! over 7 years agoAnswered by whoissteveanyway via Travellr.com
For artsy places, your first stop should be North Park. It's an up and coming section of San Diego. Find the corner of University Ave. and Ray St. and you'll find a bunch of galleries. Food is one block over on 30th.
The 2nd most artsy area is Little Italy. It has fewer galleries, but better coffee shops.
For shows, Balboa Park has the Globe Theater. The Park is right between Little Italy and North Park. And then downtown there are a few excellent theaters, and plenty of live music. almost 6 years ago
