If you're looking for a nice beach in New Jersey, I recommend Ocean City. The town is family oriented with big, white sand beaches. There's also a boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants and things to do, like miniature golf and amusement rides. Great place! over 6 years ago

Ocean City is a very nice beach, as are many of the others you will find towards the southern end of New Jersey (Cape May, Avalon). Other recommendations; Lavalette, Ortley Beach, Normandy Beach (all are just north of Seaside and are nice not full of your typical tourist crowd you see on the boardwalks in this area). I would also recommend Bradley Beach (be sure to stop by Pete & Elda's Pizza in Neptune) and Long Beach Island (LBI). about 5 years ago

Manasquan. Beautiful beaches that are wide and not as super crowded as some others in NJ and great waves. Probably one of the best bogey board and surf spots in nj. Check out letters for good food and a cold beer, right on 1st Avenue. Walk down to the Manasquan inlet to see all of the boats coming and going and see Point Pleasant across the way. The dog beach along the inlet and river is nice as well. Enjoy! about 5 years ago

The bathing beaches in the State Park about 10 miles south of Seaside Heights (the major tourist destination on the island w/ boardwalk, beach, amusements, etc.). Seaside Heights is commercial and the State Park is natural -- very beautiful and very good beach facilities! about 5 years ago

Cape May, if you want a lovely Victorian town with your beach experience. Long Beach Island for beautiful sand, but watch out for strong currents in some places. Island Beach State Park for unspoiled beaches like those on long Beach Island, without businesses or ameneties. over 3 years ago
