There hasn't been a lot of news coverage about this event but I have heard it is getting pretty hairy in NYC

I live in Queens and go to work near Times Square. My father works down by Houston St. and said he's seen a few protesters. For the most part, things are running smoothly. There were a few times when a few bad apples got carried away and police responded with pepper spray (the first week claims were made about rogue cops spraying innocent protesters, but it's gotten a little better with media presence.) I almost went down the other day when I heard some friends were part of the student march (that was approved of and licensed. It seems like if you're not purposefully disturbing the peace, it'll be fine, but just use common sense and try to avoid the cops! Outside of the downtown area, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary concerning the protest. almost 9 years ago

I walk by them everyday going to/from work. There's no violence. For a commuter it's frustrating because some streets have limited access. almost 9 years ago
