I made a dumb decision and got a single-entry visa to Vietnam. Now I want to cross into Cambodia and back before I head north from Ho Chi Minh City. Is it possible to upgrade the visa to multiple-entry? How?

I don't think you can upgrade your visa. I made the same mistake once going to Ho Chi Minh City to Angkor Wat on a single use visa, thinking it was a multi-use. The hotel in Angkor Wat had a service ($20 - $40 USD) which couriered our passports to Phnom Penh overnight, got a visa from the embassy, and returned the passport back to the hotel. Being without your passport for a few days isn't ideal, but it was all we could do since we flew back to Vietnam a few days later.

Either way, you'll have to go to a Vietnamese embassy. about 6 years ago

According to lan, he will have to o to a Vietnam embassy. I think it's waste of time. Why don't you apply a one month multiple entries visa online? When you come to Vietnam, you can get Vietnam visa on Arrival at one of there International airport: Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang airport in Da Nang.

As I know, you can not update your current visa. You should use this visa and apply for a new visa with new your arrival date. I recommend the visa agency http://evietnamvisa.com/. Their service is very good. I got visa approval letter within a day although I use normal service. about 3 years ago
