Hi all. My name is Paulplain. I am UK passport holder. I am planning to travel Vietnam on Feb 20, 2015. I know that I need Vietnam visa before departuring. I came to Vietnam embassy but they ask me to send off my passport and it costs much, very expensive. I googled Vietnam visa and see Vietnam visa on arrival, all procedures done online, but I have to apply with Vietnam travel agents. I wonder Vietnam visa on arrival is SCAM or not, because it is the first time I travel Vietnam. I found at Tripadvisor suggest Govietnamvisa and some other website. Have anyone experience this kind of visa and what is about pre-approval letter? Thank you very much in advance.

hi, Anthonyjames. Vietnam visa on arrival is not a scam. Almost foreign tourists enter Vietnam in this way. It is safe, cheap and easy to apply. Visa pre-approval letter is an official legitimate document granted to the passport holders by the Vietnam Immigration Department, proving that they have been approved by the Immigration to get visa at the arrival airport.
Upon arrival in Vietnam, the passport holders need to show this document + passport + photos & pay the stamping feeto the Immigration Officers to get their visa stamped into their passport. almost 2 years ago

yes, it is on great holiday in Vietnam, if you travel in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, tourism services still work to serve travelers. It is a good time for you to experience Tet in Vietnam. There are many interesting activities on this occasion. If you have Vietnamese friends, it shall be more exciting. Wish you have a nice trip in Vietnam. almost 2 years ago

Vietnam visa on arrival is not a scam. Many travelers reviewed on this on popular travel forums such as Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor. I myself applied for visa approval through http://www.vietnamvisa-easy.com and obtain it in 1 day. The company even offered me a free homestay service in Hanoi. Unfortunately, I visited HCM for a few days so could not take the offer. over 1 year ago

The Vietnamese Government has also unilaterally decided that from the 01st July 2015 to 30th June 2016 holders of passports from the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain and France will be waived off Vietnamese visas, if tentative duration of stay in Viet Nam does not exceed 15 days.
And Visa on arrival is not a scam. Check this site for more details http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com/vietnam/vietnam-visa.html 10 months ago

This service is a legitimate way for travelers to embark on their trips without the hassle and expense of visiting an embassy.

It seems that some embassies have been spreading rumors saying that the approval letters companies provide to travelers are fakes, and not legitimate

This is a legitimate service, approved by the government of Vietnam
